Just a few days after reiterating that ‘In Pitso Mosimane we trust’, Al Ahly have again issued another update on his future.

In an interview with Al Ahly TV, club spokesperson Adli El Keiy said it upsets him that the media is spreading fake news about the future of Mosimane.

El Keiy further reiterated that Al Ahly don’t intend to replace Mosimane. And that they are not thinking of roping in Patrice Carteron as a coach.

“It upsets me that some of the media professionals follow what agents say.” Said El Keiy.

“Al Ahly don’t think about signing Carteron and do not think about replacing Mosimane.”

El Keiy further revealed that he got re-assurance from Al Ahly’s head of transfers Amir Tawfik that there are no plans in place to sack Mosimane.

El Keiy said Al Ahly hired Mosimane to work on a project that they know will take some time. He added that they don’t fire coaches based on a single result.

“I asked Amir Tawfik and he assured me that Al Ahly have never thought of sacking Pitso Mosimane.” He confirmed.

“Al Ahly don’t sack a coach because of the result of a single match. Al Ahly appointed Mosimane to lead the project.” Added El Keiy.

Mosimane’s future has been under the spotlight since surrendering the Egyptian Premier League title to Zamalek in August 2021.

He was again criticized for Al Ahly’s Egyptian Super Cup defeat to El-Gaish earlier this month with his team strong favourites to win the trophy.
