Africa Soccer World Cup qualifiers : Ivory Coast names 30-man squad for Malawi double header

Serge Aurier

Ivory Coast head coach Patrice Beaumelle named a 30-man squad including free agent Serge Aurier for the back-to-back clash awaiting Elephants in October for the matchday 3 and 4 of the FIFA Qatar World Cup qualifiers.

The former Tottenham star’s presence in this list surprises some, but others say he should be there as he is one of the most experienced players in the locker room and still hold the national team armband.

Arsenal winger Nicolas Pépé is back in the squad as well as Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha. So is Trabzonspor’s Gervinho who all missed the first two games of Ivory Coast in September.
