Nigerian Players abroad Troost-Ekong Watford Manager Sacked After Ten Months

William Troost-Ekong Watford manager Xisco Munoz has been relieved of his position as the clubs head coach.

Munoz was sacked by the club following recent poor performance from the Hornets in their recent games.

Watford parades the highest number of Nigeria players in their squad Including Emmanuel Dennis, Oghenekaro Etebo.

The club in a statement on it’s official website thanked the Spaniard for his contribution towards helping the club regain promotion back to the Premier League.

The statement reads;

Watford FC confirms Xisco Muñoz has left his post as the club’s Head Coach.

“The Board feels recent performances strongly indicate a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving.

“The Hornets will always be grateful to Xisco for the part he played in securing last season’s promotion and wish him well for his future career in football.

“No further club comment will be available until the imminent announcement of a new Head Coach.”

Munoz managed seven games in the Premier League in his ten month reign as the club manager.

Watford failed to win any of their last six games in all competition including losing 3-1 in the Carabao Cup to Stoke City at vicarage Road.

They also lost 1-0 to Leeds United on Saturday.
