FIFA World Cup Tunisia ease past Mauritania: In control of Group B

Tunisia beat Mauritania 3-0 in a Group B World Cup qualifying game on Thursday evening.

The home win at the Olympic Stadium Hamadi Al-Aqrabi Prades boosted Tunisia’s chances of qualifying for the knockout round for the World Cup qualifiers

Ellys Skhiri and Wabhi Khazri scored in the 15th and 42nd minutes for the hosts to lead 2-0 at half-time.

In the second-half, Saiffedine Jaziri scored the third goal with five minutes to full-time to compete the rout.

Tunisia took their tally to nine points from three games, having scored seven goals and are yet to concede.

Next, it will be the turn of Mauritania to entertain Tunisia in the return leg next week.

Tunisia, led by coach Munzer El-Kabeer, built on their away 2-0 win in Zambia.

Mauritania anchor the table with zero point from three games whereas Zambia have three points from three games.  

Equatorial Guinea are on second place with six points from three matches after beating Zambia 2-0 earlier Thursday evening.
