CAF Champions League CAFCC: Enyimba Down Diambars In Aba To Reach Next Round

Enyimba FC are through to the next round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup following a 3-0 win against Senegalese club, Diambars in Aba.

The Peoples Elephant headed to the game on the back of their 1-0 they grabbed in Senegal.

Tosin Omoyele put the home team in front in the first minute in Finidi George first home game since he took over as the club new head coach.

Victor Mbaoma doubled the lead for Enyimba at the half hour mark.

Diambars were then reduced to ten men after Bacary Sane was shown the red card three minutes from time.

Enyimba made use of their numerical advantage as Kalu Samuel scored the third goal right at the end of time to qualify on 4-0 aggregates.

The win was Enyimba’s clean sheets in 2+ consecutive continental matches for the first time since September 2019. They also kept clean sheets in a continental tie home and away for the first time since the 2015 CAFCL preliminary round.
