Tanzania Premier League Didier Gomes resigns as Simba SC head coach after CAF CL exit

French manager Didier Gomes Da Rosa has sent a resignation letter to Simba SC board which the Tanzanian Premier League side accepted as Lions failed to reach CAF Champions league group stages.

Simba Sports Club have been surprisingly knocked out of CAF Champions league’s second preliminary round by Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy as they threw away their 2-0 advantage in the first leg to loose 1-3 on Sunday.

So far, rumors have been claiming that Gomes could leave his job with the Dar Es Salam outfit.

Now it is confirmed as Simba SC release statement to announce that they are parting ways with Didier Gomes who was appointed on January 24 this year.

“Simba SC has accepted the resignation letter of the Head coach Didier Gomes da Rosa”, the club statement reads.

“After an in depth discussion, both parties have mutually agreed on the terms of their separation.

“Simba SC tanks coach Gomes and his departing colleagues for the success they have achieved during their tenure with the club. We wish them the best luck in their future endeavors”.

In addition, the club added that coach Thierry Hitimana will be playing the head coach role from now going on with Selemani Matola being his assistant.

No further informations have been given as a new coach appointment is concerned.
