Premier League Conte First As Tottenham Manager Ends With Unwanted Record

Antonio Conte first game in charge of Tottenham Spurs ended with an unwanted record as they held Everton to a goalless at Goodison Park.

Conte was announced as Tottenham new manager last week following the sacking of Nuno Espirito.

The Italian who had won the Premier League with Chelsea in his first season could not guide Spurs back to winning ways.

The game saw Tottenham failed to register a shot on target in consecutive Premier League games for the first time since 2003-04.

Chances were at a premium during the opening 45 minutes, with Spurs wing-backs Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon missing the best opportunities.

Spurs gained more control in the second half and went close as Ben Davies flashed a shot wide.

Everton were awarded a penalty on 64 minutes after Hugo Lloris was adjudged to have fouled Richarlison, but the decision was overturned by referee Chris Kavanagh after a VAR review.

After ending a run of three successive defeats, Everton sit 11th on 15 points, one behind ninth-placed Spurs.
