Dstv Premiership Kaizer Chiefs coach calls for consistency after derby win

Stuart Baxter

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has called for consistency in the South Africa DStv Premiership team’s performance after they beat rivals Orlando Pirates 2-1 on Saturday.

Baxter said his side showed character in the Soweto Derby which was played at FNB Stadium where a Keegan Dolly double helped Chiefs beat Pirates. Linda Mtambo scored for Pirates.

“if we play the way we can play then we can beat anybody in the league,” the Englishman said in a post-match interview.

“But at the same time, we can be our own worst enemy and can be picked off by anybody in the league. That is a characteristic we have to change. We have to be more consistent, we have to make sure that when we have got the chance to put the game to bed we put it to bed, and then we don’t give away a silly chance. We’ve known that for a while already and we’re working very hard to put it right.”

Chiefs leapfrogged Pirates on the standings, moving up to fifth on the DStv Premiership standings.
