The South African forward has been hospitalized after his symptoms worsened during FC Copenhagen’s trip to Greece causing concern at the Danish club.

“Luther Singh has been admitted to hospital after suffering from an illness.” The club said in an official statement.

“Singh’s symptoms worsened while the rest of the team was in Greece for our UEFA Europa Conference League match against PAOK. He has been admitted for observation and further tests.” Expressed the club representative.

The club is currently uncertain about what exactly is wrong with Singh. But they are taking every step possible to ensure he is taken care of. Singh will be going for several medical examinations to determine a potential diagnosis.

“Therefore, they chose to admit Luther for further observation and examination. What has come out of it, I cannot say more about. I cannot say much other than that he is being examined. And then we have to see what the outcome will be.” An official source stated.

Regardless, he has been ruled out for the rest of the year. FC Copenhagen coach, Jess Thorup confirmed.

“That’s probably enough [that he will miss the rest of the year] without me being able to say it 100 percent right now. It’s more about him getting well and ready again, more than me thinking about whether he should play or not.” Thorup told Bold.com

Singh has had a very successful year, seeing regular game time for Bafana and playing seven times for the Danish giants.

He was excluded from Broos’ 24-man squad. But it is unclear if his illness played a role in this decision.
