Malawi are hosting Cameroon at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, this Saturday afternoon in a Group D clash.
Malawi coach Meke Mwase has started with goalkeeper Brighton Munthali who has replaced Richard Chipuwa who started in the last match which Malawi lost 3-0 to Ivory Coast.
Left-back Francis Mlimbika has also earned his return to action after a four-year absence from the national team. He has been recalled due to the long-term injury of Precious Sambani.
Upfront, the Flames are without talisman Gabadinho Mhango.
The Flames are out to defend their pride against the Indomitable Lions who are still in the race while this afternoon’s hosts cannot qualify to the next stage.
Malawi only beat Cameroon once in 1987 with the Indomitale Lions winning the other four games and three ended in draws.
Malawi lost 2-0 in the first leg played in Cameroon and should be eyeing revenge.
The Flames have three points from four games whereas Ivory Coast lead on 10 points then Cameroon on nine points.
Mozambique, who are taking on Ivory Coast, also today have one point.
