African players abroad I can play anywhere in front three—Dennis

Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis who scored in Watford’s 4-1 rout of Manchester United at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening, has said he was capable of playing ‘anywhere in the front three.’

Dennis had an inspired game as he also provided two assists, enabling Joshua King, Ismaïla Sarr and João Pedro to score a goal each for Watford.

Donny van de Beek scored United’s consolation.

In a post-match interview with Watford website, Dennis praised the team’s worth ethic saying they deserved the maximum points from the Premier League match.

The Nigerian also commented on how he felt playing in the centre of attack with King on the left flank.

“I can play anywhere in the front three, it’s okay to me and I did the job,” Dennis told Watford website.

I’m very happy, we deserved to win. Winning was the only thing in our heads, we kept going and got a very important three points.

“We kept going, I missed the chance before the penalty, I could have scored but we kept going and I got a goal!”

Dennis signed for Watford this season from Belgium where he was playing for Club Brugge amid questions about his attitude.

However he has hit the ground running in English having registered four goals so far.

Watford will take on four of last season’s Premier League top five across their next four fixtures, but such a challenge is one Head Coach Claudio Ranieri is relishing.

The Watford boss has enjoyed a productive 10 days with the players not selected for international duty, working on tactics and fitness ahead of a clash with United.
