Chelsea UCL: Chelsea Thrash Juve 4-0 To Top Group H As Malmo Zenit Share Points

Chelsea got their pound of flesh against Juventus in an emphatic 4-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League.

The defending champions put up a commanding performance against Juventus in what was Thomas Tuchel’s 50th game in all competitions.

Despite the return of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku, Tuchel kept decided to start Christian Pulisic as striker.

The Blues dominated possessions and broke the deadlock in the 25th minute through Trevor Chalobah after an a assist from Antonio Rudiger

He became the youngest player to score on his first UEFA Champions League start at the age of 22 years and 141 days after Oscar and Daniel Sturridge.

James Reece doubled Chelsea lead in the 56th minute before Callum Hudson-Odoi  extended the lead two minutes later.

That was  the third occasion of a team having three different English goalscorers in a Champions League match after Manchester United v Brøndby in 1998 (Beckham, Cole, Neville, Scholes) and Man Utd v Roma in 2007 (Carrick, Smith, Rooney).

Timo Werner came off the bench and scored the fourth goal as Chelsea now toppled Juventus as Group H leader.

Both teams are through to the round of 16 with a game to spare on 12 points but with Chelsea having more goal difference.

In the other Group H game Zenith held Malmo to a 1-1 draw in Sweden.
