Football Ballon d’Or 2021 : Pedri Gonzalez claims “Kopa Trophy”

FC Barcelona youngster Pedri Gonzalez wins the “Kopa Trophy” at Ballon d’Or 2021 ceremony which rewarded the best young player of the year.

The 19-year old beat Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham to claim the award for his achievements all along the year with both club and nation.

Pedri has been instrumental for Barca throughout the 2020/21 season playing almost all the games under Ronald Koeman guidance.

The former Las Palmas player also played a great role with Spain who reached the European Championships semi-finals before being knocked out in penalties (1-1, 2-4) against Italy.

After receiving the award, the EURO 2020 Young player award winner dedicated his trophy to his family but also said thank to you to Lionel Messi who helped him a lot.

“I was 19 years old not long ago and the best way to receive it is to receive this award. I dedicate it to Barça and to all those who have supported me, like Leo (Messi) who is here . Thank you for your help. I want to dedicate it to my family too “, he said.
