The Senegalese referee will not officiate a single African World Cup play-off match.

According to KickOff, the Senegalese official has regularly officiated these contests for many years. He is a senior official who is usually one of the first named to call matches on the African continent.

This means that CAF and FIFA have decided to withdraw the referee.

After SAFA’s recent appeal against the referee for potential match-fixing, this will give hope to Bafana supporters more hoping for a fair re-match. FIFA is still investigating the matter.
