Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder Chimwemwe Idana has won the Malawi Player of the year 2020/2021 Award.

Idana earned the award at a ceremony which the league sponsors TNM and Super League of Malawi hosted in Blantyre on Friday evening.

The 2021 AFCON-bound midfielder shrugged off competition from Vitumbiko Kumwenda of Mighty Wanderers and Blessings Tembo of Silver Strikers.

The winner of the last edition of the awards was Peter Banda then of Bullets.

Idana was also named Midfielder of the Season whereas his team-mates Hassan Kajoke won Golden Boot Award with 16 goals.

Bullets’ Richard Chimbamba was named Goalkeeper of the Season.

Nickson Mwase of Silver claimed Defender of the Season accolade with Loyld Njaliwa for Moyale Barracks earning Most Improved Player crown.

Overall, Bullets were crowned as champions officially.
