Guinea national team head coach Kaba Diawara has named a 27-man squad for the Africa Cup of nations (AFCON 2021) next month in Cameroon.

Diawara who was promoted at the helm of the national team revealed his travelling squad on Monday.

And the key figures of the team the likes of Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita, Horoya Athletic Club’s Morlaye Sylla and Lokomotiv Moscow’s François Kamano.

However, the most notable presence is that of former FC Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba who joined RB Leipzig in the last transfer window.

Guinea are located in Group B alongside AFCON 2019 runners-up Senegal, Zimbabwe and Malawi.

The Syli National will play their first game on January 10 against the Flames of Malawi.

Last time in Egypt, 2019, Guinea were knocked out in the Round of 16 by Algeria 3-0 who went on to lift the title ahead of Teranga Lions.

Keita and teammates are now eager to do better next year in Samuel Eto’o’s country.
