Egyptian Premier League Zambian striker Shonga terminates contract with Ismaily

Zambian striker Justin Shonga has terminated his contract with Ismaily, barely three months after signing the three-year deal at the Egyptian side.

Shonga has terminated the contract due to unpaid dues, according to his management firm.

“@justinshonga terminates @ismailyofficial due to unpaid salaries. A settlement has now been concluded between the two parties and in the event of a default FIFA DRC will be our next recourse,” P Management Sports tweeted.

Shonga was meant to revive his career in the Egyptian Premier League after unsuccessful stints with clubs in South Africa.

Shonga was not too long ago the most efficient striker for Zambia and he was so deadly with free-kicks.

He signed for Orlando Pirates in South Africa but the Soweto side ejected him last season.

The 25-year-old joined Tshakuma Tsha Madzhivhandila FC in January, now Marumo Gallants, before moving to AmaZulu.

He was soon on the move again to Cape Town City where he spent six months before having his contract terminated.

Now, Shonga leaves Ismaily second from bottom with just two points from seven games.
