Africa Soccer Al-Ahly Tripoli FC Part Ways With Coaching Staff For Poor Performances

The steering committee of Al-Ahly Tripoli FC confirmed on Monday to have sacked its French coach Bernard Simondi and his assistant.

The committee disclosed in a statement that Tunisian Fathi Jebali would take over to replace the dismissed French coach.

The termination of the French coach’s contract came after the team failed in the Libyan league during the last four rounds.

Al-Ahly came out from the league with only six points from one win, three draws and a defeat in the derby against Al Ittihad.

Al-Swehli temporarily leads Group Two of the Libyan Football League with 11 points, while Al-Ittihad has two postponed matches ahead and needs to win at least one of them to top the league.

As for Group One, Al-Ahly Benghazi is still on top with the full score after winning all matches, followed by the Al-Akhdar team in second place, which won five games and tied one with a total of 16 points.
