Following Ghana’s defeat against Morocco (1-0) to start their AFCON 2021 campaign, a former Black Star said the West African country misses its leading top scorer Asamoah Gyan.
Ghana have ben struggling to score goals since Gyan is not playing for the Black Stars.
Several strikers have been brought to the team to solve this goal-scoring problem but none of them managed to feet in the shoes of Asamoah Gyan who is Ghana’s all-time leading top scorer with 51 goals.
And for former Black Stars winger Laryea Kingston, Ghana still need someone like the former Al Ain star who will be a killer in the box.
“We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan in the national team. And this is what the national team needs,” he said on Metro TV.
“We need a fox striker; a striker that is always around the box and has that killer instinct. We don’t have that currently. We miss someone like Asamoah Gyan, he has done a lot. ”
Ghana will have the opportunity to bounce back on Friday when they take on Gabon for their second game.
