Cape Verde forced AFCON 2021 host country Cameroon to a 1-1 draw on Monday afternoon at Olembe Stadium to keep their qualification to the round of 16 alive.

Humberto Frederico Silva Bettencourt’s men were the first to concede with Indomitable Lions goal pocher Vincent Aboubakar being giving the lead to Cameroon in the 39th minutes.

But they’ll come back with another energy in the second stanza and will score the equalizer thanks to Garry Rodrigues who scored a beautiful back-heel in the 54th minute.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Cameroon finishing the group stages with 7 points while Cape Verde have 4 points with the chance to make it through to the next round.
