Unfortunately, the Al Ahly shot stopper picked up an injury two minutes prior to the full-time and was forced off.

He was replaced by Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal who became later the hero as he stopped Eric Bailly’s shoot to secure a 5-4 win for Egypt.

The Pharaohs will take on Achraf Hakimi’s Morocco next Saturday at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium (16:00 GMT).
