Borussia Dortmund goal scoring machine Erling Haaland snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo as he named his three best players in the world at the moment.

The Norwegian star is one of football’s hopes in the future and he is already proving why week in week out with his outstanding performances with the Bundesliga side.

Since joining Dortmund in 2020, Haaland has 80 goals and 21 assists to his name in 79 appearances with the German club.

During an interview with Sky Sports, they asked the Real Madrid-linked forward to name his best three players in the world right now.

And he answered : “That’s a good question. I think you have to say Lewandowski is number one”, Erling Haaland said.

“And then for me you have Benzema, he’s also been amazing, but Messi is also outstanding. So Benzema and Messi shared second and third place.”

Indeed, Robert Lewandowski had jaw-dropping figures last year as he bagged a staggering 69 goals with 43 of them netted in the German top-flight which helped him in breaking Gerd Müller’s goal tally in a Bundesliga calendar year.

The Polish striker deservedly won FIFA The Best Award of the best player of the year for the second time in a row.

Lionel Messi also had a wonderful year with Barcelona on a personal point as he only won the Copa del Rey collectively and also with Argentina national team as he lifted the Copa America title. He won the 2021 Ballon d’Or for a record seventh time.

In addition, Karim Benzema who scored 30 goals also did well last year with his club Real Madrid narrowly missing out on the La Liga title to parochial foe Atletico Madrid.
