AFCON Big Blow To Egypt As Injury Rules Out Hegazi

Egypt defender Ahmed Hegazi has been ruled out of the remaining games of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

Hegazi picked ruptured his tendon of the adductor muscle in the game against Morocco.

The defender who has been an integral part of for the Pharaohs winning two Man of The Match awards will be a big blow to Carlos Queiroz side who will face the hosts, Cameroon in the semi-final on Thursday.

His absence has placed the Pharaohs in a tight position with the other starting center-back Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh yet to recover from the injury he pulled against Guinea-Bissau in the group-stages.

Mohamed Abdelmoneim is expected to start against Cameroon and will partner one of Ayman Ashraf or Mahmoud Alaa as no updates given yet on El-Wensh.
