African players abroad Aubameyang says experienced enough to deliver for Barcelona

Gabon skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said he is experienced enough to deliver the goods for one of the world’s biggest football clubs, Barcelona.

He said this after passing a medical with the Spanish side on Wednesday.

“I am really happy to be here and I am looking forward to getting out on the field at Camp Nou,” Aubameyang told Barcelona official website. 

“I think it is one of the biggest clubs in the world and it is a real honour. I have experience; I have played in top leagues and I am coming here to help and give my all for the team.” 

The striker has joined the struggling Spanish giants after terminating his contract with Arsenal in the Premier League following a fallout with coach Mikel Arteta.

Barcelona have confirmed the capture of Aubameyang after he passed a traditional medical and fitness tests at Barcelona Hospital and in the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

The Spanish side, who are struggling to come out of their former star Lionel Messi who moved to PSG in France, have said they will unveil Aubameyang “in the coming days.”

Aubameyang is among stars from Africa and he made a name at Borussia Dortmund in the Germany Bundesliga.

The striker was unable to feature for Gabon at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations after suffering from Covid-19.

Aubameyang scored 92 goals in 162 appearances across all competitions with Arsenal.
