CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly are through to the semi-final of the FIFA Club World following a 1-0 win against Monterrey.

The Egyptian league champions booked their place in the last four for a second successive time and the fourth time in their history.

Al Ahly despite missing more than 6 senior players in the starting squad, completely dominated the tactical battle.

The Red Devils started the game impressively and almost broke the deadlock in the 4th minute but Abdel-Qader missed one-on-one.

Another chance came begging again, this time Hussein El-Shahat dribbled Monterrey goalkeeper but could not convert the as it was clear off the goal line.

The Red Devils could not convert any of their chance in the first half as their counter attacks prove to be threatening for the Mexican side.

Mohamed Hany became the hero of the day as he scored in the 53rd minute to give his side the victory.

Al Ahly will now focus on the semifinals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
