Egypt national team midfielder Mohamed Elneny said he has everything to get a starting role at Arsenal where his playing time is tiny.

The 29-year old has been struggling for playing time with the Gunners over the past few years may it be with Unai Emery or Mikel Arteta.

Elnney who recently lost AFCON 2021 title to Senegal in final, has just featured 10 times with the London side this season. And three of his appearances were in the EFL Cup.

Before returning to England to resume training with his club teammates, Mohamed Elneny spoke to Pharaohs legend Ahmed Hassan Mido in an interview and addressed his future at Arsenal.

“My dream is to keep playing abroad, I don’t want to be remembered as the finished player who went back home to retire,” Elneny said, as per KingFut.

“I have a dream that I am working for, I believe I have what it takes to be a starting player at Arsenal. If I see that I am falling behind, I’ll leave.

“I left to Beşiktaş because Unai Emery didn’t include me in his plans, even though he asked me to stay.

“Arteta wasn’t convinced that I can play as well, but during Liverpool game in the 2020 FA Community Shield I changed his opinion. He asked me to stay.

“I received multiple offers and I talked to the club about it but Arteta asked me to stay until the end of the season”, he added.
