CAF Champions League Africa Elites Club Begins Quest For CAF Champions League Glory

The Group Stage of the CAF Champions League gets underway this weekend with seven games scheduled across the continent on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 February 2022.

The top club in the continent will begin their quest for who will lift the Holy Grail of continental club silverware.

Defending champions Al Ahly will not be involved in action due to their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Al Ahly will be up against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia on Saturday for the third place playoff.

The Red Devils will now play their opening game against Al Merrikh on Saturday 5 March 2022.

In Group A, Mamelodi Sundown will be at home against Al Hilal at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium after they moved away from their home ground of Tshawane.

Also, on Friday CR Belouizdad will travel to take on Etoile du Sahel in a Group C North Africa derby game while Wydad Casablanca will be aiming for a winning start when they take host Sagrada Esperanca in Morocco.

Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana game agaist Esperance of Tunis in Group C will be the opener for Saturday CAF Champions League game.

In another Saturday’s game, Angolan side Petro de Luanda travel to Egypt to take on Zamalek

While South African side AmaZulu will mark their debut in the in the CAF Champions League with a game against Raja Casablanca
