Holders Al Ahly and Zamalek will face easy tests in the round of 32 of the 2021-2022 Egypt Cup competition. The two archrivals are set to battle it out against Masry Saloum and Dakhliya, respectively.
After the end of the preliminary rounds, the 14 lower division teams set to join the 18 Egyptian Premier League sides for the round of 32 of the Egypt Cup are now set.
The draw took place on Saturday morning. And it pitted 14 of the top division teams against their lower-ranked opponents. The remaining four will face each other.
The dates for the matches are yet to be revealed. But according to the EFA the dates will be announced this Monday, 21 February.
By the way, the 2020/2021 Egypt Cup is yet to be completed. The tournament stuck in the quarterfinals due to scheduling issues.
EFA board member Amer Hussein said the association will discuss a schedule for the following rounds of the postponed edition on Sunday.
Ahly won the last edition of Egypt Cup (2019/2020) after beating Talae El-Gaish on penalties in the final.
The Red Devils are currently in the second place at the Egyptian Premier League table with 19 points after seven games.
