Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) play-offs ended on Wednesday with twelve teams qualified for Morocco 2022.
South Africa, beaten finalists against Nigeria in 2018, are the final qualified country as the Banyana Banyana held hosts Algeria 1-1 to seal the WAFCON spot 3-1 on aggregate. The South African ladies did the great part of the job at home in the first leg beating Algeria 2-0.

Earlier on Wednesday, title holders Super Falcons of Nigeria qualified for the fourteenth times after beating Côte d’Ivoire’s Lady Elephants 1-0.
The Super Falcons qualified on a 3-0 aggregate win after beating Lady Elephants 2-0 last week in Nigeria.

This year’s AWCON running from 2-23 July, will see the participation of four new comers (Burkina Faso, Burundi, Botswana and Togo).
