Egyptian Players abroad John Barnes Urges Liverpool Not To Accept All Of Salah’s Contract Demands

Mohame Salah has arguably been Liverpool’s top performer since joining them from Roma in 2017. The Egyptian king has scored countless crucial goals for the Reds. And he guided the club to the long-awaited Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League.

Most recently, Salah surpassed former Chelsea legend Didier Drogba to become the African player with the most goal contributions in the Premier League, with 160.

Salah is reportedly demanding £400,000 in weekly wages, which would make the highest earner in the club. And this would force the board to surpass their very strict salary cap.

The 29-year-old revealed on various occasions his desire to stay with the Reds. However, he said it’s up to the board to meet his financial demands.

Despite him being a crucial player for Liverpool, the club’s legend John Barnes believes the club shouldn’t comply to his every need.

If Mohamed Salah wants a 10-year contract, that takes him up until he’s 40 years old. And he want’s £300,000 a week, should Liverpool really accept that? Of course not.” Barnes told BonusCodesBet.

Liverpool cannot accept every single contractual demand. They are making the right decision [by not giving in]. They are simply looking at Salah’s age.

“They love Mo, and they want him to stay. But there must be a compromise on both sides. If he was 28 and wanted a five-year contract, then fair enough.

“The days of just accepting a player’s every contract demand are gone.” He concluded.
