Football Patrice Carteron Finds New Job In Saudi Professional League After Zamalek

Ettifaq F.C have appointed Former Zamalek head coach Patrice Carteron for the remainder of the season. Carteron left Zamalek after a series of poor results saw them drop to third place in the Egyptian Premier League and their CAF Champions League group.

The Frenchman had guided the White Knights to their 13th league title last season. But he  couldn’t replicate the same results in the new campaign. This forced the club board to terminate contract with Carteron and appoint former club’s successful coach Jesualdo Ferreira.

This is the 51-year-old’s second stint in Saudi Arabia. Carteron took charge of Al-Taawoun during the 2020-2021 season after his first spell with Zamalek.

Ettifaq are currently battling for relegation, as they sit one point away from the relegation zone. With three game-weeks left before the end of the season, Carteron’s main task will be to ensure the team remains in the Saudi Professional League.

His first game in charge will be against second-placed Al-Nassr next Friday, 11 March.
