Egypt Al Ahly demolish Pyramids to go two points clear

Al Ahly demolished Pyramids 3-0 on Tuesday evening to move back to the summit of the Egyptian Premier League standings.

Second half goals from Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Amr El Soulia and Mohamed Sherif clinched the maximum points for the Pitso Mosimane men.

Al Ahly returned to the top of the table on 28 points from 10 games, leaving Pyramids in their trail on 26 points from 11 games.

The two teams settled for a goalless draw in the first half before Al Ahly asserted their dominance on the game in the last stanza.

Finally, Afsha weaved his way past Pyramids defenders and the goalkeeper to score in the empty net the opener.

Mosimane introduced Amr El Soulia for Ahmed Abdelkader then Hussein El Shahat and Ayman Ashraf replaced Percy Tau and Hamdy Fathy

More substitutions followed with Mozambican Luis Miquissone and Karim Fouad replacing Afsha and Mohamed Hany.

Such changes tightened Al Ahly’s grip on the game as El Soulia added the scored goal with a long-range effort before Sherif completed the rout.
