Tunisia club football giants Etoile du Sahel have unveiled Lassad Jarda Chebbi as their new coach.

Chebbi has replaced veteran Frenchman Roger Lemerre who bowed out after some inspiring results, including the 1-1 draw with Club Africain on Saturday.

The Tunis-based club has, through its tweeter handle, confirmed the appointment of Chebbi.

“Lassad Jarda Chebbi, first coach of the team The managing body announces the appointment of Mr. Lassad Jarda Chebbi in the team’s first coach plan, to start his work from the training session on Tuesday, March 8th and lead the team in its next match against Al Ittihad of Monastir. This wishes him success in his duties,” the club tweeted.

The 80-year-old former France boss Lemerre is reported to have resigned despite being urged to stay on.

Etoile du Sahel are on fourth place of stream B of the Tunisian league with 11 points from nine games, seven points behind leaders Monastir.

Next Saturday, Etoile du Sahel face Esperance in a CAF Champions League group stage match.
