Egypt Pitso Mosimane Opens Up After Signing His New Contract With Al Ahly

The negotiations took time. But at the end of the suspense, Pitso Mosimane has finally put pen to paper on a new contract. The new deal is set to keep him at the helm of Al Ahly until at least 2024.

However, the South African tactician is also aware that the length of the contract is subject to the performances on the pitch, especially in the cut-throat Al Ahly hotseat.

The contract is on the pitch. We had been back and forth about it. The team is happy, and I am happy. That’s more important.” Mosimane said as quoted in Egyptian media by KingFut.

The duration of the contract doesn’t mean you will stay until then (2024). If you keep winning, of course, but if you don’t win then the contract is different. The contract is just good for disputes in case we divorce then you go to the paper.

“It’s just not a mere contract but a contract for the team that plays in all the tournaments on the continent until the end.” He said.

The first real test of Mosimane’s new contract will come in the form of Mamelodi Sundowns, his former team who they take on in a reverse fixture in the CAF Champions League this weekend.

Mosimane and his side, who will make use of Kaizer Chiefs’ Naturena, will be hoping to get revenge over the Brazilians, who managed to secure a shock victory over Al Ahly in the first fixture.
