UEFA Champions League All You Need To Know About Friday’s UEFA Champions League Draws

The draws for the quarterfinal, semi final mad finals of this season UEFA Champions League will take centre stage on Friday at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

The Round of 16 games was wrapped up on Wednesday with Villarreal and Chelsea picking the last two tickets to join the other six teams that have qualified.

Three quarter finalists is made up of three English clubs viz; Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, three Spanish La Liga club which are Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Villarreal.

Benfica and Bayern Munich completes the eight teams who will know their opponents on Friday.

The draw will set the ties for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, and a draw will also be held to determine the ‘home’ team for the final, for procedural reasons.

Unlike the previous season, Friday draws are open, so there is no seeding or country protection.

Any team can be drawn against any other team.

The first team drawn plays its first match at home, against the second team drawn.

Another interesting thing to know is that the balls will be picked from the pots by former Manchester United player, Mikael Silvestre.

The quarter-finals first leg are slated for April 5 and 6 while the second legs will be played April 12 and 13.

The semi finals first leg is scheduled for April 26 and 27 while the return legs comes up May 3 and 4.

Stade de France, home to Paris Saint, -Germain will host the final Saturday May 28.
