FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP FIFA World Cup Playoff: Jollof Derby Ends In Stalemate

Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen guided the team to claim a goalless draw in his first game of the Qatar 2023 World Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Eguaavoen who was reappointed as the Super Eagles interim manager after the teams performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations claimed an important away point going into the second leg.

Dubbed the jollof derby, both teams were looking to get the first victory as the Black Stars threatened more.

The former Super Eagles defender restored Francis Uzoho back to the goal post as Leon Balogun paired William Troost-Ekong.

VICTOR Osimhen led the attack as Kelechi Iheanacho played behind him.

A cagey game saw both side failed to score heading to the second leg scheduled for Tuesday 29 at the MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja.
