Cameroon put their qualification chances to the 2022 World Cup in jeopardy after their 0-1 home loss to Algeria tonight in the first leg of the play-offs.

The Indomitable Lions are seriously in danger after this defeat at the Japoma Stadium despite a convincing play.

Vincent Aboubakar and his teammates failed to score against the Fennecs who finally found the back of the net in the 40th minute.

And Sporting Lisbon forward Islam Slimani is the one who bagged this important win for Djamel Belmadi’s men.

This is the first home loss of Cameroon national team since October 4, 1998 and a 1-3 defeat to Ghana Black Stars in AFCON 2000 qualifiers.

Rigobert Song’s men will have to score twice on Tuesday when they face off with Algeria on Tuesday at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida.
