Nigerian Players abroad Iwobi in thick of things as Everton stun Manchester United

Nigerian attacker Alex Iwobi was in the thick of things for Everton as they stunned 1-0 Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

Academy graduate Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game in the 27th minute to boost Everton’s chances of escaping relegation.

The 21-year-old shot from range in a crowded United box with the ball deflecting off defender Harry Maguire to deceive goalkeeper David De Gea.

United are on ninth place with 51 points from 31 games and their top four hopes appear remote.

On the other hand, the Frank Lampard side is fourth from bottom following the third win of the Lampard reign.

Everton have 28 points after having played 30 games.
