News Celtic succumb to Sakala pressure as Rangers qualify for Scottish Cup final

Zambian striker Fashion Sakala played a huge role to help Rangers FC grab an extra time 2-1 win over Celtic at Hampden Park in a Scottish Cup semifinal match on Sunday.

Sakala has since reflected on the match in a post-match interview with Rangers TV.

“I think it means a lot obviously I wasn’t looking forward to just score but to just win,” he said.

“I think the win meant a lot to me and to the team. We were looking forward to this moment because we have had some disappointing results against this team.”

Greg Taylor fired in from the edge of the box to hand Celtic an early lead in the 64th minute.

However, Rangers substitute Scott Arfield scored the equalizer in the 78th minute with a fine finish and take the game into extra time.

The game appeared to be heading for post-match penalties when Sakala applied the pressure on Celtic.

The pressure paid dividends as defender Carl Starfelt put the ball into his own goal in the 114th minute to hand Rangers the win.
