Chelsea Tuchel Blames Chelsea’s Loss To Arsenal For Stamford Bridge Pitch’s State

Chelsea lost 4-2 at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal on Wednesday night in a Premier League game. And as it happens many times, the coach of the Blues Thomas Tuchel blames the pitch’s performance for their loss to city rivals Arsenal on the state of the Stamford Bridge pitch.

Eddie Nketiah scored a brace as Emile Smith Row and Bukayo Saka added one each for the Gunners. The Blues scored via Timo Werner and Cesar Azpilicueta.

I have to say, the pitch is difficult to play here.” Tuchel said after Wednesday’s game. “Maybe sounds like an excuse. But it’s a very difficult pitch that we have here.” Insisted Chelsea coach.

“It is not to our favour. The ball bounces very, very awkwardly in front of Andreas [Christensen] when he wants to play this ball.

But still, we had the same mistake against Real Madrid that cost us the Champions League next round, this one cost us the next match, I cannot remember when we got a goal like this.” Tuchel added.

Whatever the case, the Blues roundly lost to a better opponent on the night, on the same pitch that they feel not good enough.

Chelsea remain in third place with the FA Cup, the remaining trophy they can win this season.
