Nigeria Osimhen In Action As Empoli Dash Napoli Title Hope

Napoli’s dreams of winning the Serie A title for the first time in 32 years were dashed after they squandered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 away to Empoli.

Napoli have failed to cling onto a lead for the second week in a row after drawing 1-1 with Roma in stoppage time last weekend.

After going three games without a win, Osimhen and his Napoli teammates conceded three goals in the first seven minutes against Empoli, despite being 2-0 up at the time.

Napoli now sits in third position with 67 points, five points behind Inter Milan and four behind second-placed AC Milan.

Osimhen played 90 minutes in the game, giving him a total of 12 goals in his 23rd league appearance.

Dries Mertens gave Napoli the lead in the 44th minute, and Lorenzo Insigne extended their advantage on the 53rd minute.

Empoli equalised with 10 minutes remaining thanks to Liam Henderson, and Andrea Pinamonti made it 2-2 in the 83rd minute.

Pinamonti scored his second and Empoli’s third goals in the 87th minute to complete the comeback.
