Africa Soccer Coach Pablo Franco salutes Simba despite loss to Orlando Pirates

Simba coach Pablo Franco has saluted his Tanzanian team for giving its all in the 4-3 post-match penalty loss to hosts Orlando Pirates on Sunday evening in South Africa.

The Spanish mentor said he was proud of his team despite exiting the Confederation Cup.

Pablo told Simba website he was impressed with the players’ commitment.

I congratulate my players for their dedication to the team despite playing poorly on the field for so long. It was difficult to impress but we will wait for one year to achieve our goals,” he said.

“The penalties are not always yours but what I liked was how my players fought. I would also like to congratulate Orlando; they were excellent within 90 minutes and our journey is over here. “

Simba had won the quarterfinal first leg 1-0 but found their lead wiped out after Pirates scored through Kwame Peprah in the second leg to put the tie at 1-1 and pave the way for the post-match penalties.

The Dar es Salaam-based team Simba went on to miss two penalties and gift Pirates the semifinal slot.
