Nigeria NPFL: Heartland FC Stun Rivers Utd As Enyimba Compound Lobi Woes

After losing 2-0 against Heartland, Rivers United were unable to expand their lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Chukwudi Nwaodu missed a penalty kick early in the first half, giving Heartland the chance to grab the lead.

Sunday Chinedu nodded home Nwaodu’s corner-kick to put the Naze Millionaires ahead in the 54th minute.

Following a defence-splitting pass from substitute Alexander Alfred, Chijoke Mbaoma put the game beyond the hosts seven minutes later.

Enyimba improved to fifth place in Aba after a 2-1 victory over Lobi Stars.

Enyimba took the lead in the 54th minute when Samuel Kalu headed in Sadiq Abubakar’s cross.

After Austine Oladapo’s attempt was diverted into his path inside the area, Samuel Stone scored Enyimba’s second goal four minutes from time.

Deep during stoppage time, Lobi Stars’ Samuel Ganda cut the deficit.

Minna Munir Idris scored the game-winning goal in Niger Tornadoes’ 1-0 victory over Gombe United at the Bako Kontagora Stadium.
