AFCON Striker Daka says Zambia not fazed by the weighty task of facing Ivory Coast

Zambian striker Patson Daka has said they are not fazed by the weighty task of facing Ivory Coast on June 3.

The Leicester City forward said this after joining camp ahead of the meeting against the former Africa champions in the group qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON.

Daka said Zambia must be ready to square up against the best teams in order to improve.

We all know what is at stake. We know that coming here is not going to be an easy challenge for us and that is what makes it even more exciting because for you to be the best, you have to beat the best,” he told Zambia FA TV.

The Zambian said strong team work can prevail over individualism hence the need for working together.

Together, we are stronger as this is a collective sport and as long as we stick together, we are going to achieve more. So far, we are trying our best. We are getting there step-by-step everyone is bringing in positive energy,” he said.

Daka challenged fellow players to prove their worth in camp.

As long as you are here you deserve to be here and you have to show why you deserve to be here,” he said.
