AFCON Libya snatch slender 1-0 win over Botswana in 2023 AFCON qualifier

Libya started their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying journey with a slender 1-0 win over Botswana’s Zebras.

Salah Taher scored in the 54th minute to hand the Libyans the win in the Group J match played Martyrs of Bnina in Benghazi.

Libya lead the group on three points whereas Botswana anchor the log table at least as of Wednesday.

The complexion of the group might as well change come Thursday when highly fancied Tunisia line up against Equatorial Guinea.

The next round of fixtures for the group will see Libya facing Equatorial Guinea whereas Botswana take on Tunisia.
