Dstv Premiership Kaizer Chiefs unveil two new signings after releasing 8 players

Kaizer Chiefs have moved in to sign promising defender Zitha Kwinika and striker Ashley Du Preez from Stellenbosch FC in South Africa.

Chiefs said the new signings had been contracted to the club with effect from 1 July 2022 ahead of next season’s DStv Premiership.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has since spoken highly of the new acquisitions saying they would add value to the squad.

We are very happy to have acquired the services of the two players and look forward to welcoming them to the Village when we start with our preparations for next season,” Zwane told Chiefs website.

The two lads have the qualities we need as Amakhosi and we believe they will quickly adjust to the Amakhosi way of play and deliver the goods for the millions of supporters who have been hungry for success for a number of years.”

Chiefs website quoted Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr thanking Stellenbosch for handling the transfer professionally.

“We know it’s not easy losing your two key players but Stellenbosch FC’s management were willing to listen when we came knocking and we concluded a deal that makes sense for both parties,” he said.

Chiefs are replacing eight players the club released on Wednesday such as Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Zambian striker Lazarus Kambole, Kenyan midfielder Anthony Agay, Colombian striker Leonardo Castro, midfielder Kearyn Baccus, Lebogang Manyama and defender Daniel Cardoso.

The Soweto side also parted ways with goalkeeper coach Lee Baxter.
