AFCON Comoros sink Crocodiles from Lesotho in Group C AFCON qualifier

Comoros beat Lesotho’s Crocodiles 2-0 on Friday evening at Maluzini Stadium in a Group C match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The hosts have Youssof M’changama to thank for netting the opener with a 59th minute goal in this match.

Benjaloud increased the lead when he scored the insurance goal in the 81st minute courtesy of Faiz Selemani’s assist.

The win saw Comoros top the group whose other members Ivory Coast were hosting Zambia on Friday evening.

Next matches will see Comoros meeting Zambia whereas Lesotho host Ivory Coast in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Comoros participated in the 2021 AFCON finals held in Cameroon from January to February this year.

Lesotho are gunning for their first-ever AFCON final berth.
