Lesotho frustrated fancied Ivory Coast to a goalless draw in South Africa in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Thursday evening.

Many had expected a walk over for the star studded Ivory Coast over Lesotho at Dobsonville Stadium.

Afterall, Lesotho had started the group with a 2-0 away loss to Comoros last week.

Now the result leaves Group H with all to play for as Ivory Coast lead on four points followed by Zambia and Comoros on three points each.

Lesotho anchor the table on on point from two games.

Before the match, Lesotho coach Veselin Jelusic has said he was bracing for a rough ride against Ivory Coast. In the end they minnows held their own.

The Elephants had  a dream start to the race following a comprehensive 3-1 beating of Zambia over the weekend.
