News Zambia women’s team coach names five ‘pros’ in AWCON squad

Zambia coach Bruce Mwape has named five foreign land-based players in the final 23-member squad for the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco next month.

China-based striker Barbara Banda is headlining the squad comprising clubmate Margaret Belemu, Grace Chanda (Kazakhstan) and Turkey-based Hazel Nali and Misozi Zulu.

Zambia’s Copper Queens will face Cameroon, Tunisia and Togo in Group B of tournament scheduled to run from July 2 to 23 2022.

The team is expected to leave for Morocco next week for an international camp where a number of friendlies have been lined-up, according to Zambia FA
