Uncategorised AFCON 2023 Qualifier: Sierra Leone Share Spoils With Guinea-Bissau

Guinea-Bissau threw away a two goal lead as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Sierra Leone in their second Group A game of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers on Monday.

Sierra Leone had to make use of their numbers to get their first point in the AFCON 2023 qualifies.

Jorginho scored a goal in the 49th and 52nd minutes to give Guinea-Bissau a 2-0 lead.

Guinea-Bissau, however, were reduced to ten men in the 57th minute after Sana was awarded a straight red card.

Sierra Leone took advantage of the red card and equalised through Augustus Kargbo on 77 minutes.

Sierra Leone completed the comeback with two minutes remaining, credited to Musa Kamara.

Guinea-Bissau now has four points and is in second place in Group A, while Sierra Leone is in third place with just one point.

Guinea-Bissau will be the Super Eagles’ guests in September for their third group encounter.

The Eagles defeated Sao Tomé and Principe 10-0 earlier in the day, with Victor Osimhen scoring four goals.
